Small series production with vacuum casting
6 August 2018
Complex small series can be produced using the vacuum casting process. The big advantage: The quality of the castings produced can keep up with injection moulded parts. The parts are particularly suitable for fit and function tests, marketing purposes or field tests.
Advantage of vacuum casting
The vacuum casting process is particularly suitable for the production of complex, high-quality small series. This enables Prototech to produce high quality injection moulded casts. In addition, 70 percent of the post-processing time can be saved by the innovative further development. The finished parts can thus be further processed and/or refined immediately after curing.
Vacuum castings are produced using master models (mostly stereolithography) and silicone moulds. Depending on the geometry, Prototech can produce up to 80 casts from one silicone mould. In addition, aluminium and brass inlays can be used. This creates undercuts with the highest precision.
