Angel wings in 3D for Baselworld

Creativity and a dash of extravagance are required for a perfect appearance at Baselworld. This is why the luxury watch manufacturer Carl F. Bucherer came to my3dworld to showcase his watch collection in the best light alongside a unique shop window design with 3D subjects.

Noble, convincing and extravagant

For the internationally renowned brand Carl F. Bucherer, it is a new challenge every year to make your shop windows trendy during Baselworld. The appearance should be noble, convincing and extravagant, so that the manufacturer's watches from the brand come into their own.

Verena Zimmermann, Head of Trade Marketing, approached our 3D specialist Niklaus Schulz with these requirements.

Angel wings, a manta and the city of Lucerne were supposed to show their own watches in 3D as a background in the shop windows in the Baselworld booth by Carl F. Bucherer.

Verena Zimmermann's wish: "I imagine these subjects in 3D so that the clocks can be placed in the objects."

A great impact in a tight space

In a first step, my3dworld clarified the technical possibilities and, together with Carl F. Bucherer, defined the suitable material and the unique design of the 3D subjects.

The 3D specialists from Faigle / my3Dworld implement the subjects with a clear vision. They created the subjects in several levels/sizes to create shades. 242 m2 of forex plates were needed for the three subjects and a total of five shop windows. These were painted with the desired color by Carl F. Bucherer. A bottom layer in gold also gave the subjects a noble touch.

The two teams Carl F. Bucherer and Faigle / my3Dworld worked at full speed because the installation times on site were tightly calculated.

Placement of the watches on the subjects

Each watch was assigned a place on the subject. The watch holders and labeling plates (manufactured using the 3D printing process) had to be positioned and fastened with millimeter accuracy in the specified grid.

Installation on the exhibition stand

The precision work for the carpenter and the 3D specialists continued with the installation in the showcases in the stand. The various plates per subject had to be hung in the showcases with specially designed pens so that the clocks could be attached.

The final appearance was convincing and the Swiss manufacture watches exuded competence. Thanks to the Swiss precision work by everyone involved, the watch collection came into its own. Only the creative team knows what work is behind the lightness of the blasting.

Verena Zimmermann, Head of Trade Marketing

"It was only thanks to the creative team at Faigle / my3Dworld that we presented the watches from Carl F. Bucherer in this special design."
